The SBU reported the suspicion to Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv. This was reported by the press service of the SBU on its official website.
The suspicion of the bishop of the UOC was announced under Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the equality of citizens based on their racial, national, religious affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and other characteristics).
The SBU noted that during a search in the premises of the diocese and at the place of residence of the metropolitan, telephones, computer equipment, printed materials and other evidence “confirming the hierarch’s criminal activities” were found.
According to the SBU, Metropolitan Theodosy “spread appeals that violate the equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, regional affiliation and beliefs.”
“In addition, it was established that under his leadership, the administrator of the departmental website of the diocese posted hostile materials from the propaganda websites of the Russian Orthodox Church, including patriarchia.ru and pravmir.ru,” the department added.
As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy reported a criminal case initiated against him by the SBU.
