In the village of Vilino of the Bakhchisarai district of the Republic of Crimea, the construction of a new temple complex of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has begun, reports the press service of the Simferopol-Crimea Eparchy.
With the blessing of Metropolitan Lazar (Shvets) of Simferopol and Crimea, on June 13, 2020, Bishop Kallinik (Chernyshev) of Bakhchisarai led the rite of the consecration of the foundation stone and commemorative capsule at the site of the future complex.
The complex, the construction of which will take at least three years, will include the main church of the Crimean icon of the Virgin “The Joy of All Who Sorrow”, a two-story baptismal chapel church of the Cathedral of John the Baptist of the Lord, an administrative building, a Sunday school and a sports gym for youth.
The UOC Eparchy notes that “if the Lord grants His mercy and support, then after 9-12 months the first construction site — the baptismal chapel church” will be ready for consecration.
