On 29 March 2023, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that our state is the territory of the greatest religious freedom "in this part of Europe".

In his evening video address, the head of state said that "today another step has been taken to strengthen the spiritual independence of our state, to protect our society from old and cynical Moscow's manipulations of religion".

According to him, "Ukraine is the territory of the biggest religious freedom in this part of Europe. It has been so since '91. It will always be that way."

Zelenskyy thanked "all those who care about Ukraine and our citizens" and "all those who support the Ukrainian struggle for independence".

As earlier reported, radicals seized the UOC cathedral in Ivano-Frankivsk.
