The abbot of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed), after they put an electronic bracelet on him, addressed all Local Churches and stated that this is how they treat objectionable people in Ukraine.
“Your Holinesses, Local Orthodox Churches, your Beatitudes, our Synod, the episcopate, this is how they treat objectionable people in our country. Well, God helps them. I blessed all the presidents for the elections, prayed, and today I am awarded such a great honour,” the Lavra abbot noted.
Metropolitan Pavel added that he was praying to the Lord to grant reason to all haters.
“I’m very, very grateful to everyone. I won't cry, I've cried it all out. I pray to God that the Lord grants them reason. But if I die, then say that the way of the cross has ended and the person has reached the extreme point which he should have reached. Thank you. God bless you. I love you. Show the Lavra more often, show the caves more often, not political things, so that people know that our country is rich in the gifts of the grace of the Holy Spirit; holy people live here, there are a lot of us Orthodox not only in Ukraine but throughout the world. I am grateful to you, dear journalists, for everything,” said the Lavra abbot.
As earlier reported, the court sentenced the vicar to 60 days of house arrest, without the right to visit the Lavra.
