UOC Synod appoints new head of Khmelnytskyi Eparchy

On April 3, 2023, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church appointed a new ruling bishop of the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy, Archbishop Viktor (Kotsaba). This was reported by UOC the Informational and Educational Department.
Having considered the report of Metropolitan Anthony of Khmelnytsky and Stara Kostiantynivka, the Synod removed him from the office of the eparchy and retired him.
The Synod meeting was held in a remote format.
Vladyka Viktor has so far been the vicar of the Kyiv Metropolis.
As reported, on 2 April, OCU raiders seized the Intercession Cathedral of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Khmelnytskyi.
