Greek Foreign Ministry complains to EU about Turkey because of Hagia Sophia

On July 10, 2020, Greek Foreign Minister, Nikos Dendias, posted on Twitter that he had informed his EU counterparts about Turkey’s decision to convert Hagia Sophia into a mosque, reports “Orthodox Times”.

“I informed my colleagues about Turkey’s provocative decision, against world cultural heritage and UNESCO, to annul Kemal Ataturk’s 1934 decree for the protection of Hagia Sophia, by which it was turned into a museum,” he said.

As reported earlier, the Greek Ministry of Culture threatened Turkey with cultural isolation because of Hagia Sophia.
