The Kyiv City Military Administration said that worshippers who came to the Easter service before the curfew began can stay in the church all night until the curfew ends, as reported on the official Telegram channel.
"According to a preliminary schedule, temples and cathedrals will be open to all worshippers for evening and morning services on April 15 and 16. On 15.04.2023, evening services will be held from 15:00 to 23:00. And on 16.04.2023 morning divine services will be scheduled from 05:00 to 18:00. The curfew will last as usual from 00:00 to 05:00. However, the curfew does not prevent churches from holding divine services at night," the statement reads.
At the end of the curfew, people can also visit churches and consecrate the Easter basket. The KCMA reminded the believers that leaving churches and being in the streets or other public places during the curfew is prohibited.
"In addition, all worshippers who decide to attend night prayers in churches should inquire independently about the location of the nearest shelter. When an air alert is announced, both clerics and visitors should definitely move to the nearest civil defence structure," said KCMA chief Sergei Popko.
As reported, the Kyiv authorities urged the faithful not to go to churches at Easter.
