Viktoria Kokhanovska comments on her "detention"

On April 22, 2023, human rights activist Viktoria Kokhanovska commented on her “detention” by the police.

Viktoria stated that she would defend the Church of Christ and the Constitutional rights of the believers of the UOC until her last breath.

She wrote that together with other detainees (Pavel, Roman and Yuliya), “we received grace in defending the Church of Christ and upholding constitutionality and legality in our state.”

“If you don’t like it, you can shoot us now, but I won’t give up religion, because standing aside when they defame the House of God is the worst sin before God and your own conscience,” Kokhanovska believes.

She stressed, “I have not recognized and do not recognize the OCU, therefore no SBU officers, politicians or policemen will make me break down and keep silent about the abomination.”

Kokhanovska noted that her house arrest would not last 60 days and “already in the legal field we will soon be with you again for a common prayer.”

“I am in Kyiv and will soon get in touch, I’m dealing with organizational issues, reaching out to international organizations for the protection of human rights,” Viktoria wrote.

According to her, she “she was horrified” when she watched the video of her “detention”, because “when unconscious and without protection, men with a female body can do anything, and even more so when these men are officials, and, like, in execution.

“We did not violate anything and used all possible and impossible legal remedies in a democratic state, where complete lawlessness, irresponsibility and impunity seethe,” the human rights activist emphasized.

She thanked the believers for their prayers and wrote that all the detainees bear their Cross further and thank God for everything.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that unknown people had kidnapped human rights activist Viktoria Kokhanovska.
