The information of the SBU that the person who was suspected of justifying the aggression of the Russian Federation is allegedly a novice of the Pochaiv Lavra is not true. The UOJ editorial office was informed about this by the press service of the monastery.
“This person is not a novice, he was not recorded to the brethren of the Pochaiv Lavra, he is not registered in the Lavra,” the monastery emphasized.
The SBU press center reported that “the 48-year-old novice of the Pochaiv Lavra used profiles on banned Russian social networks, through which he actively disseminated Kremlin propaganda narratives,” and also “praised the top military-political leadership of the Russian Federation and tried to discredit Ukrainian defenders.”
As the UOJ wrote, earlier the Information and Education Department of the UOC denied reports by some media that a man detained in the Ternopil region for transferring photos of energy facilities to the Russian special service was allegedly a novice of the Pochaiv Lavra.
