On May 1, 2023, the Primate of the UOC, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry, came to the prayer standing of the faithful near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

The published footage shows His Beatitude praying at the reading of the Akathist to the Resurrection of Christ in the courtyard of the Lower Lavra together with parishioners, who have been defending the monastery for more than a month.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry has prayed together with the defenders of the Lavra. On April 24, 2023, together with the priests, the Primate of the UOC read an Akathist to the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv Caves.

As the UOJ reported, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry urged the believers of the UOC not to succumb to provocations and protect the shrines.
