The Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office has handed over the indictment against Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv to the court, reports the press service of the regional Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Department on Facebook.

Metropolitan Theodosy is accused of inciting interfaith hatred (Part 1, Article 161 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code) and justifying Russian aggression (Parts 2 and 3, Article 436-2 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code).

According to the SBU, the fact that the hierarch of the UOC allegedly "created a website for the eparchy in 2020 using templates from the ROC with the use of Russian software" confirms the "justification" of Russian aggression by the hierarch of the UOC.

In particular, Metropolitan Theodosy allegedly "filled the eparchial website with destructive content from pro-Kremlin internet resources" through his subordinate.

The SBU also noted that the hierarch's "justification of Russian aggression" is confirmed by the fact that users of the website "had the opportunity to follow links to propagandistic Russian pages of the RO".

"According to the investigation, the clergyman also spread appeals in public statements among clergy and believers, as well as in official comments, that violate the equality of citizens based on their race, nationality, religious affiliation, and beliefs," added the SBU press service.

As previously reported, Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy was placed under round-the-clock house arrest.
