On August 25, 2020, the traditional annual religious procession of the UOC from Kamyanets-Podilsky, Khmelnytsky region, arrived at the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra, reports "1Kozak".

In the pouring rain, a column of many thousands of believers entered the main gate of the monastery.

At the head of the column are the holy icons that accompanied the pilgrims along the entire way. For seven days, believers of the UOC have covered almost 250 kilometers, approximately 35 kilometers a day.

Due to quarantine restrictions, pilgrims walked around the settlements and stayed overnight in tents.

The cross procession, which, according to various estimates, gathered from 5 to 10 thousand pilgrims this year, includes people of all ages – from babies in strollers to the elderly.

As noted by the participants in the events, this year the procession took place without obstacles and provocations.

The tradition of making a cross procession from Kamyanets-Podilsky to Pochaiv on the eve of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos originated over 200 years ago.

As the UOJ reported, the cross-walkers from Brailov, who are expected at the monastery on August 26, are approaching the Holy Dormition Pochaiv Lavra.
