The head of the UOC Information Department, Metropolitan Clement, commented to Strana on the statement of Culture Minister Tkachenko, in which he demanded that the UOC vacate the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra within three days.
Metropolitan Clement is sure that Tkachenko's statements will have no legal consequences for the monastery.
He said that Tkachenko regularly voiced absolute lies about the actions of the Ministry of Culture regarding the Lavra. According to him, the Culture Minister's statements contradict the actions of the Ministry of Culture itself.
"Tkachenko says that the Act of Acceptance-Transfer of the Lavra’s property has been signed, but in the next sentence, he says that the monastery has refused to sign the Act of Acceptance-Transfer of the Lavra’s property. Apparently, Oleksandr Tkachenko signed this act with himself," the bishop said.
As reported, Tkachenko demanded that the UOC vacate the Lavra within three days.
