On June 23, 2023, a protest took place at the Kyiv Book Arsenal against the Minister of Culture, Oleksandr Tkachenko, reports Telegraph. Activists held posters that read "Tkachenko, out," "Tkachenko is destroying culture," "We don't need a Little Russian minister," and "Tkachenko, resign".

The resource "Left Bank" reported that on June 22, a new petition appeared on the Cabinet of Ministers' website calling for Tkachenko's dismissal. In the petition, the minister is accused of incompetence, manipulation with the Dovzhenko Center, and taking a stance against the closure of the Bulgakov Museum in Kyiv. Within just one day, the petition has already gathered nearly 7,500 votes out of the required 25,000.

As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers refused to dismiss Tkachenko.
