On September 27, the Head of the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolitanate of the Serbian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Amfilohije (Radović), said that whoever worships their country and their nation worships nothingness, the website of the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolitanate reports.

In his homily after reading the Gospel, the Metropolitan noted that the sacrifice of Christ on the Cross is a measure of the Divine treatment to the world, to God's creation. This is also an indicator of the attitude of people to God and to each other."

According to Vladyka, in our time there is an eternal human conflict between life and death, eternity and transience.

“This conflict occurs between those who believe in death, nothing and transience, who worship themselves and their idols, their government, who worship their country and their nation, and think that this is the sense of human life. In fact, they worship the transitory and the insignificant,” he said.

Metropolitan Amfilohije reiterated that we, Christians, worship the God-man, the eternal Son of God, through Whom Divine love shone, “Who calls all people and all earthly nations to this eternal and immortal dignity. This is a call that has resonated with our people today, from young to old."

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that according to Metropolitan Amfilohije, the previous government of Montenegro fought against God, not against him personally or the people.
