The Sosnivka District Court of Cherkasy has postponed the hearing in the case of “inciting interfaith hatred” by Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv to August 21, 2023, which was reported by Suspіlne.

During the meeting, the witnesses were not ready to testify, which is why the judge adjourned.

In the courtroom, the prosecutor read out the full indictment against Metropolitan Theodosy, but the bishop himself did not admit his guilt.

In February 2023, the SBU reported the suspicion to Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy. Vladyka is accused under Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the equality of citizens based on their racial, national, religious affiliation, religious beliefs, disability and other grounds).

As reported by the UOJ, Metropolitan Theodosy of Cherkasy and Kaniv stated that the accusations against him were groundless and far-fetched.
