U.S. Senator from the Republican Party Randal Howard Paul, on the air of Fox Business, criticised the Ukrainian authorities for their attitude to the Church. Paul published the video of the broadcast on his Twitter page.
Commenting on the journalist's question about the arrest of American journalist Gonzalo Lira by the Ukrainian authorities, Randal Howard Paul said that there is no democracy in Ukraine and also called the Ukrainian government a "corrupt regime".
"Ukraine banned the political parties, they have invaded churches, they have arrested priests and so on. It isn’t a democracy, it's a corrupt regime," the senator said.
As earlier reported, according to American journalist Tucker Carlson, the fact that priests are being jailed in Ukraine is a barbaric thing.
