On December 9, 2020, during the International Conference on Religious Diplomacy "Religions and Challenges of the New Decade" organized by the Department of Theology with the support of the Greek Foreign Institute, Patriarch Bartholomew said that the cessation of interfaith dialogue "will serve to the plans of the dark forces," Рentapostagma edition reports.

On the first day of the conference, which took place online, the Phanar head stressed that "today we are living in a time of the revival of religions as a dynamic spiritual movement."

He called on people of different religions to cooperate through interreligious dialogue.

The head of Phanar is convinced that the goal of religion is "to bring the peace of God into the world, at the same time condemning the violence that comes from painful religiosity."

For Patriarch Bartholomew, the task of interreligious dialogue is to "create a culture of solidarity that belongs to the Christian brotherhood and has to become a banner of our time."

"The Ecumenical Patriarchate will continue the interfaith dialogue, as the cessation of these initiatives serves to the plans of the dark forces," said the head of Phanar.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that, according to Patriarch Bartholomew, full unity will crown the dialogue between Catholics and Orthodox.
