The international law firm Amsterdam & Partners LLP will defend the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the legal field. This was reported by the Synodal Legal Department of the UOC.

"In recent years, we have witnessed daring and systematic violation of the rights of religious organizations and believers of the UOC regarding freedom of religion. On September 25, 2023, during the meeting of the Holy Synod of the UOC, it was decided that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will use all possible legal remedies to protect its rights, both on a national and international level. In compliance with the decision of the Holy Synod, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has sought legal assistance from the international legal company 'Amsterdam & Partners LLP,' which has agreed to provide this assistance on a charitable basis," stated the Legal Department.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the Legal Department of the UOC stated that the draft law initiated by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to liquidate religious organizations does not comply with international law, the Constitution of Ukraine, and is aimed at discriminating against Ukrainian believers and restricting a portion of Ukrainian society.
