Patriarch Bartholomew bears personal responsibility for raiding, violence and other illegal actions committed by the supporters of the OCU against the believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich), Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan of Boryspil and Brovary, said this in an interview with Vesti.ua.
Asked about the reaction of the Church to the announced visit of the head of Phanar to Ukraine, the Metropolitan noted that “our position is simple. We are against the visit of Patriarch Bartholomew to Kyiv."
In particular, he explained, this is dictated by considerations of maintaining social stability and peace.
“It is no secret to anyone that the decision of the head of Phanar to intervene in Ukrainian church affairs became the impetus for mass seizures of the UOC churches. Thus, Patriarch Bartholomew de facto bears personal responsibility for raiding, violence and other illegal actions that have been and are being carried out by supporters of the OCU against the believers of the UOC,” added Metropolitan Anthony of Boryspil and Brovary.
We will remind, earlier the spokesman of the UOC denied rumors about the arrival of the head of Phanar in Kyiv in January 2021.
