LGBT soldier Viktor Pilipenko called on homosexuals to organise a flashmob of kisses at the St. Andrew's Church of the UGCC in Lviv to support writer Serhiy Zhadan and singer Khrystyna Soloviy, who recorded a video clip promoting LGBT in the temple in October 2023. Pilipenko wrote about it on his Facebook page, attaching a video of him kissing his boyfriend near the temple.

Pilipenko's action is related to the reaction of the UGCC, which condemned the video and demanded that it be removed from video hosting sites.

"We urge all gay couples to come to St Andrew's Church and kiss – thus reminding those who hold their rituals there that they do not have the power to condemn and punish for love," he said.

According to Pilipenko, the flash mob of kisses was supposed to start not near the temple, but inside, but the men were not allowed there by the church staff.

On the same day, blogger Alina Shubska posted on her Facebook page a picture of her kissing a girl inside St. Andrew’s Church. The woman signed her post with the phrase "Because God is love".

As previously reported, an LGBT propaganda video was filmed in a Uniate church in Lviv.
