On Wednesday, January 20, a working meeting between Archbishop of Novomoskovsk Eulogius and representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe took place, reports the press service of the Dnepropetrovsk Eparchy.
The meeting was held in the format of a video conference.
The interlocutors discussed the impact of the coronavirus epidemic on church life in Ukraine, the effectiveness and compliance with quarantine restrictions in churches.
Vladyka Eulogius raised the issue of pressure on the clergy and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in order to transfer them to the OCU.
The archbishop told the observer of the Monitoring Mission about attempts to use the administrative resource to combat coronavirus to force the clergy and parishioners of the UOC to abandon their Church in favour of the OCU.
However, the believers of the Dnipropetrovsk Eparchy of the UOC did not change their position. In 2020, there were no transfers of religious communities to the OCU, noted Archbishop Eulogius.
As reported, human rights activists in the OSCE called for weakening quarantine measures for worship.
