MP from the "European Solidarity" Iryna Herashchenko stated that Bill No. 8371, which provides for the prohibition of the UOC, would not be adopted in the second reading by the end of 2023. She wrote about this on her Facebook page.

According to her, the adoption of the bill this year became impossible due to the appeal of 53 MPs to the Speaker of the Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk with a demand to submit the bill for examination to the Venice Commission.

Herashchenko noted that MPs from the "Servant of the People" also signed the appeal, in particular, the deputy head of the faction Andriy Motovilovets.

The MP also told that the "Servant of the People" motivates its demand by international reaction and criticism of the bill that came from the West and the USA.

As the UOJ reported, MPs called on the head of the Verkhovna Rada to appeal to the Venice Commission due to the ban on the UOC.
