Worshippers in the Lavra continue to receive communion through the bars

In the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, they continue to administer communion to parishioners through the barred gate. On December 3, 2023, the priests of the Lavra's Church of the Life-bearing Spring, located at the lower entrance to the monastery, were forced to hear confessions and administer communion to their parishioners through the barred doors.

Photos of the communion were sent to the UOJ's editorial office.

Recall that since August 10, the authorities have, for unfounded reasons, closed access to the Lower Lavra for all parishioners. Access to the sanctuary is only possible for a fee as part of an excursion group.

For the first time, the parishioners of the Life-bearing Spring were forced to confess and receive communion through the bars on their temple feast on April 21.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that several services were held in the Lavra when the authorities did not allow believers to attend worship, and they were compelled to receive communion through the barred gate.
