On February 3, 2021, Andrey Kravchuk, an expert of the LGBT Centre “Our World”, called the “major Churches” the main enemy of LGBT people in Ukraine.

During the presentation of the annual report on the situation with sexual minorities in Ukraine, Andrey Kravchuk noted that the "major Churches" are not just an opponent, but "an open enemy of LGBT people in Ukraine".

“I would not like to say this, I would like to believe that it is possible to find mutual understanding with our Churches, it is possible to find a common language ... But I no longer believe in it. We have been trying to do this for 20 years. For 20 years, we have faced complete silence or rejection of our proposals on the part of religious leaders," said Kravchuk.

He also stressed that "Churches in Ukraine deny any steps to improve the situation of LGBT people and are much more conservative than their Western co-religionists."

Kravchuk believes that the Ukrainian Churches see the struggle against gender ideology and LGBT rights as "their main task" and use "shameless, cynical and false propaganda" in this fight.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will toughen penalties for violating the rights of LGBT and transsexuals.
