President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky announced the reduction of the powers of the District Administrative Court of Kyiv (DACK) and is sending three bills to the Verkhovna Rada, reports TSN.
According to Vladimir Zelensky, "everyone is unhappy with some of the steps taken by individual judges of the DACK."
“I have already signed the presentation of the bill. Within the framework of the current legislation, we will take away the powers, thanks to which some judges of the DACK could do unfair, wrong things, because of which the society is dissatisfied with the actions of the judges of this court,” he said.
Vladimir Zelensky added that three bills concerning the judicial branch of the government will be promulgated on February 15.
As reported, on February 11, 2021, the DACK cancelled the renaming of the avenues in honour of the Ukrainian nationalists Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych.
In April 2019, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv suspended the renaming of the UOC.
On September 19, 2019, the same court ruled in favour of Bishop Gideon (Charon) and ordered the return of his citizenship.
In 2018, the District Administrative Court suspended the proceedings in the Tithes Monastery case.
As previously reported, the Tithes Monastery in Kyiv is again threatened with demolition.
