On 9 January 2024, despite the cold weather, the clergy and laity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church continued their prayer standing near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, reports the Telegram channel "Myriany" ("Laity").

The service in front of the St. Sergius of Radonezh Church was led by priests of the Holosiivsky district of Kyiv.

"Indeed, today it is frosty and uncomfortable, but people came, people are praying,” said the rector of the Demiivka-located Ascension Church, Archpriest Pavel Kyrylov. “In such days, it is a kind of exam, a test of our faith, our hope, our love for God. We believe and hope that the Lord will strengthen both parishioners and bishops. Let's pray, let's hope in God!"

As earlier reported, a UOC parishioner, Ksenia, who participates in the prayer standing near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, said that God's grace helps the defenders of the shrine to overcome difficulties.
