The Security Service of Ukraine refused to explain why they instructed the State Special Communications Service to block the UOJ website.
In response to the parliamentary appeal of MP Artem Dmytruk, the Deputy Head of the SBU, Serhiy Andrushchenko, stated that the law enforcement officers "within the framework of assigned tasks" monitor the media "to identify threats to the national security of Ukraine in the information sphere, as well as to counteract special information operations against Ukraine aimed at undermining the constitutional order, violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, aggravating the socio-political and socio-economic situation."
"Based on the results of such activities and with the presence of grounds provided by the legislation, the SBU takes appropriate measures in accordance with the regulatory legal acts," Andrushchenko replied to Artem Dmytruk, without explaining how the UOJ "threatened national security," "undermined the constitutional order," or "violated the territorial integrity of Ukraine."
Andrushchenko refused to provide details, citing a ban on the "dissemination of information obtained during such activities."
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in Ukraine, at the request of the SBU, they are demanding to block the UOJ website.
