On March 9, 2021, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky said that whoever raises the "issue of the Church" today wants to earn quick-fix "hype", reports Strana publication.
Speaking at the forum “Ukraine 30. Culture. Media. Tourism", the Head of State, answering the question about the status of the Ukrainian language, said that "everything is written in black and white in the Constitution: the only state language is Ukrainian", and "those who raise the issues of nationality, language, and the Church want to have short-term ‘hype’, leading to big consequences for many people, unfortunately."
The President is sure that “all these consequences can result in splitting the society”, and “if the deputies do not like this or that law, and it does not matter which party they are from, if they see injustice in this issue, it is normal to talk about it, but it should to be a public dialogue.”
At the same time, Vladimir Zelensky said that comfortable conditions for all its citizens should be created in Ukraine.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Union of Orthodox Lawyers said that President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky had ignored the appeal of believers.
