Only the Ukrainian Orthodox Church now preserves the integrity of Ukraine and is doing everything to preserve this unity, said the Chancellor of the UOC, Metropolitan Anthony (Pakanich) of Boryspil and Brovary in the new issue of the project "Faces" published on the YouTube channel of the Odessa Eparchy.

According to Vladyka Anthony, it is very important to preserve the unity possessed by the canonical Church. “Perhaps these are the only threads to offer any vista for future development,” he said.

“Therefore, if we shift a focus, we simply cannot understand why there is a fight against our Church, which actually preserves the unity of the territory of our state,” Metropolitan Anthony wonders.

The hierarch emphasized that all peacekeeping projects of the UOC have to do with love for the native land, rather than political goals.

“We are Christians, we love our homeland, we love our Ukrainian God-loving people, and whatever they are going to say about us, we will do everything to fill the human soul with true joy, true life.

We aim to live in a prosperous country that will flourish, and with our labor we will increase the riches our country is so gifted with,” said Metropolitan Anthony.

As the UOJ reported, at the cross procession of the UOC in Kharkiv, believers prayed for peace in Ukraine.
