Lviv city authorities have found a use for the expropriated premises of the Resurrection New Athos Monastery.

The Lviv city authorities will set up a rehabilitation centre in the premises of the Resurrection New Athos Monastery in Lviv, which was taken away from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, said the chief architect of Lviv Anton Kolomeitsev in a meeting of the City Council Executive Committee.

"It goes about the restoration of an important historical site with adaptation to the medical function to provide a rehabilitation centre there," said the official.

According to him, during the restoration "there should be an exemplary attitude to the object as a historical site".

As reported, on 4 April 2023, Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi said that as part of the campaign to liquidate the UOC in the city, the premises of the Resurrection New Athos Monastery were "officially transferred to the use of the First Medical Association".
