On 31 January 2024, the humanitarian cargo from the Synodal Department of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on social and humanitarian issues and from the Dnipropetrovsk Eparchy of the UOC was delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra, as reported on the monastery’s website.

Deputy Head of the Synodal Department Archpriest Konstantin Dvorovy and Head of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Ministry of the Kyiv Eparchy of the UOC Archpriest Andriy Dvorovy brought a ton of flour of the first and highest grade and 250 litres of vegetable oil to the Lavra within the framework of the programme "Mission of Mercy".

Then the priests went with humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of Liman, Kurakhovo and other frontline settlements of the Donetsk region.

On the same day, the cargo from believers of the Dnepropetrovsk Eparchy was delivered to the Lavra: vegetables, fruit, flour, cereals, sugar, cheese, more than a thousand eggs, and half a ton of vegetable oil.

The aid was collected for a week and a half in three churches of Dnipro: the Assumption Cathedral, the Church of St Seraphim of Sarov and St Elijah’s Church, as well as in the Pavlohrad Deanery. The cargo was accompanied by the rectors of Dnipro churches Archpriests Timofei Kuchuk, Oleksandr Kurochkin and Oleksandr Avakumov.

Together with the donations, believers handed over petitions with the names of relatives and friends for prayerful remembrance in the Lavra.

The message notes that thanks to humanitarian shipments delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra, the monastery not only provides all the essentials for the monks and refugees but also assists the residents of nearby settlements.
