On 19 February 2024, Vinnytsia Regional Court of Appeal considered the complaints of lawyers of Metropolitan Jonathan of Tulchyn about the cancellation of his preventive measure –  night house arrest, due to the end of its term, reports the press service of the Tulchyn Diocese.

The lawyers stressed that this restriction violates the religious right of the bishop to perform Divine Liturgy in remote churches of the diocese and outside the diocese. After two prosecutors intervened, the appeals court rejected Metropolitan Jonathan's petition.

The press service of the diocese reports that lawyer Ihor Chudovskyy asked the court to redirect the investigation materials to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI). The court took the lawyer's statement into consideration.

The next meeting of the Vinnytsia Regional Court of Appeal is scheduled for 15 March 2024.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Metropolitan Jonathan appealed to Zelensky because of criminal prosecution.
