Metropolitan Meletiy consecrates Ivanivtsi church instead of the one seized

On March 2, 2024, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi consecrated a house church in the name of Saint Prince Alexander Nevsky in the village of Ivanivtsi, as reported by the press service of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese on Facebook.
After the seizure of their shrines from the religious community by activists of the OCU, believers converted a house into a church.
The service was concelebrated by the secretary, Archpriest Dmytro Shcherban, the dean of the Kelmentsi district, Archpriest John Protsyuk, the abbot of the St. Nicholas Monastery, Archimandrite Ambrosy, and the clergy of the diocese.
After the consecration, Metropolitan Meletiy congratulated the believers on their new place of worship.
The diocese reports that supporters of Dumenko seized the UOC church in the village of Ivanivtsi on August 13, 2023.
As reported by the UOJ, on March 2, Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi consecrated a church for the religious community in honor of the Ascension of the Lord in the village of Babyn.
