The National Reserve "Sofia Kyivska" (St. Sophia Cathedral – Trans.) has joined the European organization Europa Nostra, which is dedicated to the preservation of cultural and natural heritage in Europe, according to the Ministry of Culture.
"The organization has now raised over 150,000 euros to support cultural heritage defenders in Ukraine through a joint solidarity campaign. Such an event has special and symbolic significance as the organization celebrates its 60th anniversary, and 2023 was a year of consolidation and further expansion of the organization's activities for the benefit of Europe's common heritage," the Ministry of Culture's statement reads.
It is reported that Europa Nostra has launched the European Heritage Hub project, which aims to mobilize stakeholders at all levels of governance to support climate actions regarding heritage and culture. Another goal of the project is to engage youth and individuals who typically do not participate in such events in the preservation of cultural heritage.
As reported by the UOJ, the National Reserve "Sophia of Kyiv" has opened an exhibition by the Kherson artist Yana Holubyatnykova, organized by the queer-feminist charity organization "Insha".
