Dialogue is the best cure for stirring up conflicts, says Minister of Culture and Information Policy Alexander Tkachenko. He stated this in an interview with Radio Liberty in the context of his attitude to the issue of renaming the UOC.

Tkachenko noted that he adheres to a neutral position on this issue and does not consider it necessary to “move in one direction or the other” in order to prevent the “enemies” from taking advantage of the situation.

According to the minister, the situation in religious interaction in our country is so "normal, calm and correct" that many of our Western partners are struck with it.

“It’s unlikely that you will find one where,” Tkachenko assured.

“Discussions happen periodically, but they do not go beyond,” he stressed.

The UOJ previously reported that on April 1, 2021, representatives of the Orthodox parishes of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church handed over to Vladimir Zelensky an Appeal signed by 1,063,000 citizens regarding the persecution of their Church, in which they also asked to repeal the law on changing the name of the UOC.
