OCA Head: Bancheny Monastery demonstrates perennial power of Orthodox faith

Metropolitan Tikhon, the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, expressed in his remarks to the Primate of the UOC that he was deeply touched by the attention and manifestation of love from Ukrainian believers, as reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
"During this glorious Paschal season, it is my joy and honor to be with Your Beatitude here, at the Ascension Bancheny Monastery. It is my understanding that the monastery celebrates now its 30th anniversary this year. The vitality of the monastic community and its social outreach are a demonstration of the perennial power of the Orthodox Christian faith," noted the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America.
He also emphasized that our faith is not a relic of the distant past but "eternity erupting into the presence".
The Primate of the OCA was greatly impressed by the splendor of the monastery, its achievements, and the generosity of the monastic community. Furthermore, according to his words, the special intimate feeling during the Divine Liturgy, during the Holy Eucharist, is a true "revelation of the Kingdom of God".
As reported by the UOJ, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphy thanked the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon, for his visit and joint prayer after the Divine Liturgy at the Bancheny Monastery.
