Head of Cyprus Church: We do not support autocephaly of Church in Montenegro

The Primate of the Cypriot Orthodox Church, Archbishop Georgios, stated that the question of the autocephaly of the so-called Montenegrin Church was not discussed during the meeting with the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.

The official website of the Cypriot Church published an explanation by Archbishop Georgios, stating that "we did not discuss with the President of Montenegro any issues related to the Autocephalous Church of Serbia or local church authorities in Montenegro."

He noted that he had not implied and does not imply that the Cypriot Church anticipates or supports an "autocephalous Church in Montenegro".

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the head of the "Montenegrin Church" discussed the prospects of a Tomos from the Phanar.
