The "victim" in the case against Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv, OCU chaplain Volodymyr Ridnyy, stated that the "activists" who provoke outside the courthouse are actually not fighting for religion and are atheists. He shared this in an interview with Vycherpno.

"Most of the activists who come there are young people who are atheists. These people do not fight for religion; they understand that Moscow hides its influence behind the church and disguises its desire to remain in Ukraine under the guise of the UOC-MP. Our youth does not want this; they want freedom," Ridnyy asserted.

As the UOJ reported, the Cherkasy court demands an end to provocations during the hearings of the UOC hierarch's case.

Earlier, on June 6, 2024, a group of radical "activists" staged another provocation outside the Sosnivskyi Court building, where a hearing was being held accusing Metropolitan Theodosiy of Cherkasy and Kaniv of "insulting the feelings of believers". During the provocation, the activists pushed one of the cathedral's parishioners so hard that she fell and broke her arm.
