The Synodal Committee for Doctrinal and Canonical Issues of the Greek Orthodox Church has formulated claims against the two metropolitans, who strongly criticized the recognition of the OCU, as well as measures to combat coronavirus, reports Ageliaforos.com.

Cosmas (Papachristos) of Aetolia and Acarnania and Metropolitan Seraphim (Stergiulis) of Kythira and Antikythera are accused of "disrespect for church authority, theological errors, moral incitement to disobedience of believers in relation to the state and the church's proposals on health issues".

In addition, the members of the committee concluded that with their letters and their radically negative position regarding the OCU, the metropolitans "undermine the unity of the Church of Greece with the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Orthodox matters and question its canonical (Ukrainian) privileges".

Greek media report that the Synodal Committee for Doctrinal and Canonical Issues of the Greek Orthodox Church opened a case against the above-mentioned metropolitans.

Earlier, Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus of the Greek Orthodox Church, the Tomos of the OCU is the most tragic event in recent years.
