The Georgian Orthodox Church has explained the reasons for chanting in Church Slavonic in the Mtskheta Cathedral of Svetitskhoveli, reports rustavi2.ge.
“Today, together with the Georgian clergy, a joint service was held in the Georgian and Church Slavonic languages. As you know, services in Ukraine are conducted in the Church Slavonic language. Tamara Chergoleishvili, editor of the Georgian magazine “Tabula”, said that on this fact, the law enforcement agencies are obliged to arrest and interrogate Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia.
As previously reported, the Georgian Church stated that the organizers of the LGBT march were responsible for the riots.
