On July 28, in celebration of the Baptism of Rus, a solemn opening of a photo exhibition of lost churches in the city took place at the UOC's spiritual and educational center "Foma" in Kharkiv. The exhibition is dedicated to the 225th anniversary of the founding of the Kharkiv Eparchy of the UOC, as reported by the diocese's press service.

The exhibition was organized by the Kharkiv Theological Seminary (HDS), the spiritual and educational center "Foma", and the "Old Kharkiv" society.

The exhibition aims to acquaint visitors with the churches of Kharkiv that were lost during the 20th century.

The opening ceremony included speeches from Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor, and HDS lecturer Serhiy Kudelko, public figure Yuriy Putnik, and the head of the "Old Kharkiv" society, Oleksandr Stadnik.

The exhibition features stands with photographic materials on 17 churches, showcasing both historical photographs of the churches and images of the locations where they once stood.

The cultural and artistic part of the event was led by the head of the regency and choral department of HDS, the head of the youth affairs department of the Kharkiv Diocese, Archpriest Fedir Voskoboinikov. It included recollections of the destroyed sanctuaries, accompanied by spiritual hymns performed by choirs and singers of the Kharkiv Eparchy, as well as piano music by Kharkiv composer Serhiy Bortkevich.

The photo exhibition of lost churches in Kharkiv will be open at the "Foma" spiritual and educational center until September 8. It will be available for viewing every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
