Archpriest Serhiy was released once the bail sum at 5 million UAH was paid for him, and he was obliged to wear an electronic bracelet. This was announced by his lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel. He recorded a video with Father Serhiy, stating that they were heading to the hospital due to serious health issues faced by his client.

Father Serhiy expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to his release, for the prayers that he felt, and to his defenders, who supported him not just as lawyers but as true friends.

As previously reported by the UOJ, on August 6, 2024, during an open session in the Solomiansky Court of Kyiv, a decision was made to release the UOC priest Serhiy Chertylin from pre-trial detention on bail.
