The dean of the Novoarkhanhelsk church district of the Kirovohrad Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Vasyl Dubyna, was honored with an award at the First National Forum of Probation Volunteers, titled "Agents of Change: The Power of the Compassionate," organized by the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine. This was reported by the UOC's press service.

The event, dedicated to highlighting the vital role of volunteers in Ukraine's probation system, took place on December 18, 2024.

Probation is a system of supervisory and social-educational measures applied by court decision and in accordance with the law to convicted individuals, involving the execution of certain types of criminal penalties not related to imprisonment.

During the forum, the most outstanding probation volunteers were awarded. Out of 800 nominees, three winners were selected, one of whom was Archpriest Vasyl Dubyna from the Kirovohrad Eparchy of the UOC.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the Council of Churches in the Kirovohrad region excluded the UOC from its membership.
