Orthodox Christians, Catholics and Rodnovers prayed together in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, said the "cyborg" and one of the leaders of the "Right Sector", MP from the "Holos" faction, chairman of the subcommittee on international maritime policy and security of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-parliamentary Cooperation at the ecumenical conference organized in Kyiv by the UGCC.
The deputy, who fought in the Donbas from 2014 to 2016, noted the role of military chaplains, calling them "an example of a truthful ecumenical movement".
“Much is said here about communion – a very important thing. As an eyewitness, I wanted to say one little remark about the sacrament. When we, staying in a place of permanent deployment, were building up, and we were given tasks, then necessarily in our unit, first in the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps, then in the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and native faith believers began to pray. And even those who did not know to whom and what to pray. But it was common, one-time, something that united us all,” said Andrey Sharaskin.
The Ukrainian Volunteer Army (UVA) was formed on the basis of the "Right Sector" in 2015 after its leader Dmitry Yarosh and his associates left the organization. It was created on the basis of units of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps (DUK), which took part in the hostilities in the Donbass. Andrey Sharaskin was in charge of the 5th battalion of the DUK "Right Sector", took part in the battles for the Donetsk airport.
The UOJ also wrote that the Ukrainian right-wing radical, known as the "Son of Perun", became a student at the Uniate University.
