On March 5, 2025, a Catholic Mass was held at the White House to mark the beginning of Lent, according to Catholic News Agency. The service took place on the Wednesday of the first week of Lent, which Catholics refer to as Ash Wednesday.

The Mass was held in the Indian Treaty Room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, adjacent to the White House, and was open to all who wished to attend. This was not the first time the White House had hosted a Mass. During Donald Trump’s presidency in 2018, Masses were regularly organized at the White House, with over 100 people attending the Ash Wednesday service that year. These services became a regular spiritual event until they were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. When President Donald Trump left office, the Masses were discontinued.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Melania Trump announced the return of Easter celebrations at the White House.
