The Northwestern Appellate Commercial Court in Rivne has issued a decision to evict the religious community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the Dormition Cathedral in the city of Volodymyr. The full text of the March 11, 2025, ruling has been published in the official judicial decisions registry.

The court’s decision is the result of a legal dispute between the Volyn Regional State Administration and the UOC religious community of the Dormition Cathedral in Volodymyr.

The ruling came into legal force on the day it was issued, although it may still be appealed to the Supreme Court.

As previously reported by the UOJ, in November 2024, the Volyn Regional Commercial Court ruled to return the cathedral to state ownership. A member of parliament called the eviction of the UOC from the cathedral in Volodymyr a “victory”.
