MinC: 59 religious buildings damaged in Ukraine since the outbreak of war
Since the beginning of hostilities in Ukraine, 59 buildings of spiritual significance have been damaged as a result of shelling, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reports on its website.
At the same time, the vast majority of them are shrines of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. The affected religious buildings are located in 8 regions: Kyiv, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv.
Also, as a result of hostilities, mosques, synagogues, Protestant churches, religious educational institutions and important administrative buildings of religious organizations were damaged.
As reported by the UOJ, a temple of the UOC of the 19th century was destroyed near Kyiv due to the battles.
