On August 17, 2025, American immunologist Derya Unutmaz stated in an interview with artificial intelligence popularizer Jon Hernandez about the possibility of reversing aging processes within the next 10–15 years. "Don’t die in the next 10 years. Please try to survive, because if you live 10 years, you’re going to live another 5 years. If you live 15 years, you’re going to live another 50 years, because we are going to solve aging," the scientist said.
According to the specialist, in the foreseeable future, it will be possible for people aged 80 and even 100 to return to the biological state of twenty-year-olds. Unutmaz is convinced that this achievement will become the most revolutionary discovery in the entire history of human civilization.
Derya Unutmaz is a professor at the Jackson Laboratory in Farmington, Connecticut, USA, and a leading specialist in the field of immunology. The scientist is the author of over 100 scientific papers and collaborates with OpenAI, which explains his belief in the capabilities of artificial intelligence in solving the problem of aging.
According to the scientist, AI will allow for the identification of deregulated genes, correction of proteins, and restoration of metabolism, creating "digital twins" of human organs, which will help reverse the aging processes.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that scientists found the cause of aging and methods to block it.
