Monastic tonsure performed in Khust Eparchy
At the St. Seraphim Men’s Monastery in the city of Rakhiv, Bishop Mark performed a monastic tonsure.
On March 14, 2026, a monastic tonsure took place at the men’s monastery in Rakhiv. With the blessing of Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv, the rite was performed by the eparchy’s vicar, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv. This was reported by the press service of the Khust Eparchy on its Facebook page.
During the tonsure rite, the novice Mykola took monastic vows and received a new name – Spiridon. In taking the angelic habit, the monk pledged to live in obedience, dedicating his life entirely to the service of God and the Church.
The brethren of the monastery wished the newly tonsured Monk Spiridon spiritual strength, humility, and zeal in bearing the monastic labor to the glory of God.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a rassophore tonsure was performed at a monastery in the Khmelnytskyi Eparchy.
